Several months ago, I realized something was missing from life and I wasn’t balanced. Little did I know, I hadn’t truly found my purpose. Although I enjoyed the work that I did in my corporate job, it just wasn’t fully satisfying me. In both undergrad and my graduate program, I was always busy. When I reflect on that time now, I don’t even understand how I kept it all together and organized. I always made time for my interests.
Something I truly believe in is the statement “You make time for what you want to make time for.” I can’t stress how true that is whether it pertains to side hustles, relationships or even going to the gym. There were all these ideas I developed, yet there wasn’t any action put behind them. Simply put, I didn’t make time for myself.
Boss Lady Brand was created for the following reasons:
1.I needed a creative outlet
As long as I was working my 9-5 job and not going home to creating something for myself, I wouldn’t be happy.
2.There’s no growth in the comfort zone
Most of my life, I’ve made fairly calculated decisions. I always took the time to weigh the pros and cons and figure out the most likely outcome. For once with building a brand and a community, I can’t calculate that. I just have to put in the work and let God do the rest.
3.I wasn’t operating in my purpose
Recently, I saw a quote that really spoke to me:
The longer you operate outside of purpose, the longer something or someone is going without the thing you were created to do.”
Reading that, it really all clicked. Regardless of whatever limitations I placed on myself, it wasn’t about me but about the people I can potentially impact. I want to build a community where I can empower other women to be their own kind of Boss Lady in all aspects of life!
What’s the last thing you challenged yourself to do? #Fun Fact–This picture in this post was taken minutes before my surprise proposal! But more on that in this post here 🙂
