I finally upgraded my laptop! I got the 13 inch Macbook air in the Rose gold color here at the official specs:
- 1.6GHz Dual-Core Processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
- 128GB Storage
- Touch ID
My upgrade was really needed! Especially with all that I do blogging. I’m giving you all the scoop on the new laptop and hopefully this will help you decide if you should invest in this Macbook Air if you are on the fence.

Accesories I got:
With this laptop being so pricy, it was important to me to get all the necessary accessories to keep it safe while traveling with it. I really only got 3 Items and I have them linked below. I wanted a hard shell case, laptop sleeve, Thunderbolt convertor and an external hard drive.
Things I love about the new Macbook Air:
The color
I decided to get the new Macbook air in a beautiful Rose gold color. All things rose gold is one trend I’m hoping will stick around for a while, selfishly because I have already invested a lot into this trend at this point – my luggage, iPhone, and laptop!

The rose gold on this laptop is pretty subtle since it is kind of matte. If it was super shiny and reflective, I don’t think I would like it as much. I knew because I already loved the color of the laptop that I would want to have a clear case for it. Of course, Amazon came through with the laptop goods so everything that I mention and link is from there. The case I got for my laptop is here and they have SO many different colors to choose from.
The weight
It is a tie between the color and how lightweight this laptop is for my favorite feature. A huge factor in me deciding to upgrade was the fact that my Macbook pro was a brick. I basically never traveled anywhere with it because it made my backpack weigh a ton.
I feel so mobile with my new laptop that I can easily slip it into a bag and travel or go to a coffee shop and get work done. The Macbook air is also very thin which helps to reduce some of that weight from my previous Macbook pro.
*Disclaimer: My keyboard is not dusty, the keyboard cover is frosty lol

The Speed
This was another big factor in me getting a new laptop. My other one was just so painstakingly slow, it would get frustrating trying to complete simple tasks. My new macbook air makes it so easy for me to complete anything. I can have a ton of tabs open or applications and it still works well.
I know that also just has to do with the fact that the laptop is new, but hopefully with all the new technology added to this laptop to help it with speed I can continue to enjoy this feature.
Battery life
I wasn’t having battery issues with my macbook pro, but this macbook air charges in record time! If I know that I plan on taking it some where to do work, I can just charge it while I get ready and it will be sufficiently charged just in case I don’t have access to chargers in my next destination.
Speakers
The sound system on this laptop is high quality – it gets loud! Not only is it loud, but it is also very clear sound. If I don’t feel like connecting to a speaker while I’m listening to music this laptop with blast the sound loud enough for me to hear it throughout my apartment.
The speakers are located on the left and right sides of the keyboard.

Touch ID
Touch ID is the feature I didn’t know I needed! I love being able to quickly unlock my computer. It is definitely a luxury feature and makes me feel pretty fancy.
Things I’m Not a fan of:
Girl, the price
I knew I was going to upgrade for a while, so I was prepared to spend the coin needed, but it still doesn’t make it better! I got my laptop during the back to school sales time frame to make sure I got the best deal. I even got the free beats headphones that I have been loving lately. I ended up paying a little over $1000 for everything. Right now the 128GB Macbook Air is $1,099 and the 256GB Macbook Air is $1,299. Whew. Prepare your coins!
The Camera
I can’t really sugar coat this, but I am super disappointed in the camera on this laptop. Not that I planned on having a photoshoot with it, but even for using Facetime the quality just isn’t great. I think they put all their resources into making the cameras on the new iPhone that they forgot about this one!
Thunderbolt 3 Plug/Outlets (??)

This is just annoying because I had to get a convertor for this. There isn’t a spot for a USB plug in or a place to put in a SD card from a camera. I guess this is the way technology is moving so this will take a little to get adjusted to. I also use an external hard drive that I use to back up my computer which uses a USB port so getting a convertor was a must for me! The convertor I got is linked here and my external hard drive I got is linked here.
Do you think these new features are worth upgrading for? Let me know!
