Here’s a quick recap of my week! I would be lying if I didn’t say this week didn’t feel a little long after having so many days off during the holidays! Here are a few things that I had going on!
1. I started back rolling out content!
I got 3 blog posts (including this one) up, 2 posts on IG for my dog (follow him here to check him out), and it will be 4 posts on IG for myself by the end of the day. And of course, you can follow me here.
2. I’m reading two books
I got Michelle Obama’s book Becoming for Christmas and I also wanted to start off my year finally reading the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I felt left out before I got Becoming because basically everyone I knew already had it, so I knew it would be at the top of my list of books to read for this year! My goal is to read through the books that I already have and to read one book a month! That is a pretty challenging goal, but reading more is an important goal for me. There are a couple of books I’ve had my eye on for a little so I might get those, but I’m trying to refrain from buying every good book recommended to me.
Continuing to grow is critical to success. Reading helps you grow in many different ways. I have a post here where I link a few other books I recommend!

3. Knocking out Wedding Decisions
We are only a few months to go, and getting close to less than 100 days away! We have more things to decide on but we are pretty close to finishing up decisions on bigger items!
4. Winter is here
We had moderate temperatures but then BOOM it got really cold. Like frigid. Since moving to the DC area I have quickly learned that wind is on a whole different level here and adding that wind really changes things. We’ve even had to get Kaptain a little vest because he is so fragile in the cold.
5. Challenging conversations
This week at work, I’ve had to have a few challenging conversations. At first, I didn’t want to, but I knew it was important to advocate for myself and be clear on my desires. The bottom line is, know your value and know your worth! Know when to speak up for yourself (spoiler alert: It’s whenever you feel like you want to!)
Any fun weekend plans? Maybe you can catch up on my last two posts before next week’s content gets rolling!
