Friday Five–What is this?! This is my series on the Blog where I recap the week with you and share anything of interest! These posts will be a little less structured and less formal. It is really a chance to get to know me a little more and what is going on outside of just blogging!
1.How is it already December?!
This whole year I’ve been amazed at how fast 2018 has gone by. December is one of my favorite months because I love the holiday season. Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday, next to my birthday! As soon as we got back from NC for Thanksgiving, the Christmas decorations went up!
This year, I also have my very first Blogaversary to celebrate! Yes, I have officially had my blog live for a whole year at the end of the month. It was one of my 2017 goals to have it live and share it with the masses. I’m so thankful that I did decide to hit publish and start this journey. I’ve learned so much and still learn more and aspire to do more for my community each day.
2. I found the black booties I’ve been searching for!
It has been a challenge to find the perfect bootie. I have been on the hunt for the perfect everyday black booties for a while now. Macy’s had the winning pair! Macy’s has a brand called Bar III and their items for both men and women are really nice! I got them on sale for under $60 and I really like them because they are just jazzy enough to spice up an outfit, yet they have a very low chunky heel so I can wear them all day. These booties don’t even feel like they have a heel on them. I wanted to link them for you, but apparently, everyone else loves them as much as me and Macy’s doesn’t even have them on their site anymore!
3.I’ve been waking up at 6am-ish
Ok, so initially the goal was to wake up at 6 am every day and I can be honest and say that didn’t exactly happen. I woke up sometime before 7 each day, which is a big improvement! What exactly am I doing with this extra morning time? Well, I like to start off by doing a devotional and then writing in my gratitude journal. My day just goes so much more smoothly when I start off with having a little bit of time to myself. The regular Bible app has some really great devotionals that last for various days whether you want a week or a full month on one topic.
After I have that personal time, I’ve been working on blog related things like writing content or scheduling pins. One of my goals for 2019 is to have better systems and processes to increase my overall efficiency. I want to get more done and have my blog/business running like a well-oiled machine.
4.You should be following my dog Kaptain on Instagram
I might be slightly obsessed with my new pup Kaptain. But he is just so adorable its hard not to be! Instead of overloading our personal accounts with pictures of him, we did what any good dog parents do and made him an Instagram! You can follow him here to keep up with his shenanigans! I also have an entire post all about him and getting him that you can check out here.
5.I got my 2019 Planner!
I have been on the hunt for a new planner for a while now, and I am super particular about what I like in a planner. I stumbled upon Bloom Daily Planners on Amazon and ended up buying a planner from their actual site while they had a sale during Thanksgiving weekend. There will be a Full review and post on the planner I selected and share the reasons why I ultimately decided on this one! I’ve also never really utilized planner stickers before, but this year I decided to get some to make planning even more fun. I already love to be organized so this will just make it a fun and relaxing activity at the beginning of each month and week.
How did your week go? Have you started your 2019 planning yet?
