I love planners. I especially love my new Bloom Daily Planner. Ever since I began using a daily planner to keep track of homework assignments in middle school, I have been obsessed! I have gone without utilizing planners for short periods of time and it drives me crazy. I just can’t keep track of everything in my head and props to those of you that do!

Call me old-fashioned, but as much as organize big picture plans for my life or blog on different online platforms, I still use good ‘ole pen and paper often. I use a physical planner and I have a couple of different notebooks that I use for brain dumps to clear my mind. I bought my planner for the new year Thanksgiving weekend in November after spending a lot of time researching planners. I’ll explain why each component of this particular Bloom Daily Planner is important and useful to me!
Overall Physical Design

What initially attracted me to this Bloom Daily Planner was the cover! I first noticed the beautiful marble and gold design that they have on their site but decided to step outside of my norm and go for this vibrant leafy design. The leaf pattern stood out to me because it just feels tranquil and
Another big thing for me is having a planner that is spiral bound. It just works better for me and I like being able to turn it to just one page at time if I don’t want the whole week layout displayed. Quality spiral bounding is important because I have had planners where the metal wire comes undone. I wanted a planner that was built to last me through the year.
I often go and do work in new settings so my planner needed to be able to withstand being thrown into a bag with my laptop and other notebooks.

Month and Week Layouts
I am very particular about the layout in a planner. I need the individual month calendar directly in front of the weekly layouts. I’m not a fan of the planners that have all of the month layouts grouped at the beginning of the planner.

Next, I like to have the week layout that spans two pages so I can see the entire week at a glance. This planner has an area at the top of the week layout where you can place what your focus is for the week. What really attracted me to this Bloom Daily Planner is that the week layout was in list form!

I am a list girl–I add things to my list just to get the satisfaction of crossing it off lol. I find that when planning my day it makes more sense for me to list out what I want to accomplish. However, I don’t like to write items down in an hour-by-hour planner. I use my digital resources for calendar blocking. This was my first time having a planner that had the weekly format like this and I am a huge fan of it!
Goal Setting Components

Vision Board Components
I personally think creating a vision board for the year or life is really important! Just to get your goals written out or even in picture form is huge in achieving your goals. When you create a vision board, it helps you realize that your aspirations can be a reality.
Not only is there a vision board for the year–There is a monthly vision set up before each month!

Inspirational Quotes
Is a planner really complete without motivational quotes?! I don’t think so lol. This planner has a full page quote before each month and then a quote on each weekly layout. This week’s quote is:
Her courage was her crown and she wore it like a queen
Atticus

Bonus Features
There are the cutest little water cups to help keep track of your water intake on each day. Drinking more water is always a goal of mine so this feature will be helpful to keep me accountable.
At the end of the
Lastly there is a ‘2019 Highlights’ page in the end where you can recap 2019 in review and reflect on your memorable moments and the ways you bloomed.
Stickers!

This is the first time I have bought stickers for a planner. Previously my other planners came with a couple of sticker sheets at the beginning. That would be my only downside of this planner, I wish one or two sample sticker sheets were included!
The Bloom Daily Planner Sticker sheets were too cute not to buy. I debated between the Productivity Pack and the New Classic Pack. I ended up with the Productivity Pack and I have been having so much fun with using them.
An honorable mention is the Wedding Planning Pack. Those were adorable but I decided to have a little bit of self-control and go with the one pack of stickers.
In Conclusion…

I totally recommend the bloom daily planner if you are aiming to get big goals accomplished! They also have different layouts if the one that I selected doesn’t work for you. You can check out all of the options on their site here
Do you use a physical planner? What is your favorite brand? A few others that I checked out were the Day Designer Planners and the planners from Ivory Paper Co. If you’re looking for some tips to stay productive this year, I share a few tricks in this post here.
