I couldn’t wait to share with you these 5 Great Books that I read within the last year that will change your life! In the times we live in, you have no excuse for not learning what you want to know! You can easily hop on the internet or find an entire “how to book” on anything, literally Anything! If you want to be successful, you have to continue learning and introducing your mind to new ideas and concepts. These are the books that I read (or listened to) within the last year that really helped to shape how I think about how I want to approach life!
I love a good self-improvement book that delivers actionable strategy. Not just actionable strategy, but new information that I can clearly implement into my life.

Atomic Habits – James Clear

This book really opened my eyes to how habits are really established and how they are sustained or broken. The whole concept is that even if you make tiny changes here and there, they all eventually add up to create the change you are seeking.
This book has tips for forming any kind of habit you want in your life, not just habits for your career or business. Anyone can benefit from creating better habits in life! It also always helps if the book is a little entertaining as well.
Not only does Clear provide tips, he provides really great examples that help to relate and digest the information. This is a book you will want to highlight and underline in! Atomic Habits really did change my life and how I approaching forming better habits and I knew this would be at the top of this list of 5 great books!
More Than Enough – Elaine Welteroth

I already knew that I was going to love this book because I have been following Elaine Welteroth for a while particularly when she was the editor-in-chief at Teen Vogue. I went to her DC stop of her Book Tour and recap that event here. This book is so great for any career woman and particularly women of color.
Welteroth recounts her journey to how she became who she is all while sharing nuggets of wisdom. She shares her wisdom through her life experiences that most women can also relate to. More Than Enough is great for anyone navigating their career and are trying to figure out how to leave their mark in the work place.
#Influencer – Brittany Hennessey

This was such a great quick and informative read. This is a book I will surly be reading again because Brittany Hennessey basically gives you a full blue print with do’s and don’ts for how to be a thriving and successful Influencer. Brittany has experience on the brand side, so she really knows what she is talking about!
My favorite part of this book was when she shared Influencer Don’ts (“Don’t be that girl”) and when she shared the success stories. I flew through this book because I was so excited about all the tips and everything I was learning.
4-Hour Work Week – Tim Ferris
A 4-hour work week sounds like a dream doesn’t it?! Tim Ferris really provided validation for how I feel about working 40 hours a week – That it isn’t necessary. I think you should be paid for your skill and value you add, not necessarily for sitting at a desk for a full 8+ hours.
Ferris outlines the steps you can implement in your life to get down to a 4-hour work week. Although I don’t plan on getting it down to just 4 hours there are still so many valuable time management tips that Ferris touched on. One of my favorites being Parkinson’s Law where you take as long as you are given on a task. Ferris also discusses ways to add automation into your life to help minimize the actual work you need to do. When you limit your time spent on trivial tasks by delegating, you have more time to work on the things you are actually skilled at.
You are a Badass at Making Money – Jen Sincero

This book follows the original You are a Badass Book that I mentioned in this post here. This newer book is all about your money mindset and challenging the relationship you have with money.
A relationship with money? Yes, we all have one whether you want to acknowledge it or not! Your relationship with money is how you feel about money and how you treat it and use it. Do you have an abundance mindset or a scarcity mindset?
The good thing is if you want to have more money in your life, along with working hard for it, you can change your relationship with money using the detailed steps outlined in You are a Badass at Making Money. You can even get the two books together in a package deal on Amazon here!
Now that I have shared these 5 Great Books, the next three books up on my list are Becoming by Michelle Obama, Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, and Crushing it! by Gary Vaynerchuk. What books have changed your outlook in life? I’m always up for suggestions, so feel free to leave them for me!
