Smoothies or smoothie bowls are so quick and easy to make. They are my go-to solution when I need to eat something nutritious yet filling. I won’t lie, these recipes won’t keep you full all day but they will certainly hold you over for a bit. What I also love about smoothies is that they are totally customizable, and you generally can’t mess them up. When I want to make a smoothie bowl I generally use less liquid to keep the consistency thick. Toppings on a smoothie bowl are definitely my favorite part. Try out one of the recipes below and let me know if you like it!
The Everything smoothie
- 1/2 of a Banana
- Peaches
- Berry mix (Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries)
- Pineapple
- Almond milk
- Water
- 1 tbsp. Chia seed
- 1 tsp. Lemon juice
I get all of my fruit from Trader Joe’s because they have reasonable prices for their frozen fruit and a great variety of frozen fruits. I personally like to freeze my own bananas (which is why they actually aren’t in the picture) so I get a couple of those each week to ripen and cut them up to freeze. This Ninja Blender is my favorite and has yet to fail me. You can get here from Amazon if you’re interested. The one I use has the full blender attachment, but a couple of smaller and more affordable options from Amazon are here and here.
The Sunshine smoothie
- 1/2 of a Banana
- Pineapple
- Mango
- Almond Milk
- Water
- 1 tbsp. Chia Seed
- 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
I like adding the chia seed for bonus health benefits, but like I mentioned before it is totally up to you what you put in! I always like to sprinkle a little bit of granola on the top of my bowl or cut fresh fruit for the finishing touches. Enjoy!
