If you are going on a trip soon, I got with everything you need on your vacation packing list. Your carry-on bag has to include all of your essentials especially if you’re flying. I’m personally not a fan of checking a bag if I don’t have to. Over the years I have had to perfect my packing strategy in order to survive with just a carry-on suitcase. And believe me, I still overpack—but I like to be prepared for anything!
1.Durable Luggage
Luggage should definitley be number 1 on your vacation packing list! It was love at first sight when I saw my suitcase! I am a huge fan of all things rose gold and could not believe that I actually found the suitcase in this color. Not only was the outside exactly what I wanted, the inside had the dividers I needed. Three things that I wanted in my next carry-on suitcase were a hard shell, 4 wheels, and inside compartments. This luggage is also fairly lightweight and I can easily put it in overhead compartments on the plane.
2.Wallet/Passport Holder
I personally like to carry a good wallet that has a lot of compartments to hold all the important things I need such as cards, cash, insurance cards and identifications. I also have a separate passport holder that protects my passport.

3.Electronic Devices
This includes phone, computer, camera, iPad/tablet etc. I like to keep all of these items close to me especially because I wouldn’t want them to be broken if my checked luggage was thrown around.
4.All the chargers (Don’t forget these on your vacation packing list!)
You will want your regular chargers for your computer, camera, etc. and a portable charger for your phone. I think we can agree that traveling with a phone on a low battery is not a great idea. It would be the time that you need to use your phone the most when it is about to die. Even if there are outlets in the airport, they are usually hot commodities and often not in ideal locations. If you have a portable charger for your phone like this one from Amazon, you won’t have that problem!
5.Headphones
I previously used the regular iPhone headphones but recently got these Bluetooth headphones from Amazon for less than $30! They have amazing reviews and for the price, they are really great quality. I like these because they are super compact and don’t take up any room. It is also important to remember to bring regular headphones that have the auxiliary jack to use on the plane’s entertainment devices to watch movies!
6.Essential Toiletries/Makeup
I once, unfortunately, had to get ready for a funeral in an airport bathroom (Worst. Travel. Experience. Ever. ) and was so thankful that I had all of my toiletries accessible and didn’t have to buy any of the overpriced ones in the airport. I would also be devastated if I lost my makeup collection–I know that sounds dramatic, but it is so hard (and expensive) to build up a solid makeup collection of the products that work for you! My makeup always stays in my carry-on. I go into more detail about the toiletry items I take in the free checklist in this post!
7.Mini First-Aid/Health Kit
We all know how people always get sick after traveling on planes. I try to take a few steps to avoid airplane sickness. I’m fairly confident that people look at me crazy when I sit down and whip out my Lysol wipes and sanitize my area. And I’m totally fine with that. I like to keep Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, band-aids, headache medicine, ginger chews and more with me at all times when I travel.
8.Snacks
Snacks are essential for me to have on my vacation packing list to avoid becoming hangry while traveling. You never know if your flight is going to be delayed or canceled so It is always great to have a few options on hand. It also helps to fight temptation when you’re trying to eat healthy to just have your own snacks.
9.Entertainment
Maybe you want to read that book you’ve been meaning to get to or watch that movie on Netflix on your iPad. I have a list of motivational books that you can check out here. Whatever it is, make sure you pack it! I would also recommend downloading any movies or podcasts before you leave so you can watch them without wifi while you travel!
10.Cozy Gear
Planes are notoriously always freezing. I like to bring a blanket scarf that I wear but can turn into a blanket. For me personally, my feet tend to swell from the coldness and change in altitude if I don’t have good socks on–so these are a must for me! I also try to remember my neck pillow for plane naps. Mine is similar to this one here from Amazon where it snaps in the middle and you can easily hook it on luggage.
